“Les Echères”
Saint Emilion Grand Cru
The Blanc du Château Vieux Taillefer, cuvée “Les Échères” is made from a selection of old white Merlot vines, the only ones listed in the Bordeaux region. The vast majority (more than 90%) of white Merlot is blended with very old Semillon.
This white wine is the oldest referenced parcel of white grape varieties in Saint-Emilion, in fact it is the only one that is not a creation, but a testimony to the history and heritage of Saint-Emilion, its terroir is exceptional and its wine is unique and rare.
Matured in medium toasted 300-liter cigar-shaped Tronçonnais barrels. Les Echères boasts pure character.
This wine is as we call, pedigree, it is unique, and has a great ageing potential. The proof that the noble terroir of the appellation Saint-Emilion can create the most beautiful white wines.
The production of this wine is limited to only 300 bottles in total.
